01 Sleep

Super Soft and Supple attachment strips hold the fully adjustable and removable ‘Hug-Me Bars’ help to provide a comfortable and safe feeling for baby whilst playing or resting.

03 Soothe

Elevating your baby’s shoulder one side at a time encourages baby to turn their head away from the raised shoulder. Alternating between left, right and on their back. Gentle rotation like this helps to prevent the effects of flathead.

04 Support

Our Story

The Babywedge is a modern-day innovation developed by two Brisbane-based sisters, Sally Birtles and Hayley Birtles-Eades. Their desire to design and develop a solution to alleviate symptoms of acid reflux and colic in Hayley’s first child, Blade, led to what is now known nationally as the Babywedge. Hayley’s son, now three-and-a-half, was one week old when it was noticed he wasn’t holding down milk and would be sick after every feed – even after being burped and placed down to sleep. Worried that he was in a great deal of pain and unable to see her son continue to suffer, Hayley took Blade to the doctors. After many trips to doctors and hospitals, he was diagnosed with infant reflux and placed on medication at only seven weeks old! Hayley refused to believe that placing Blade on medication was the only option to relieve his reflux and began speaking to child health professionals about alternative treatment options to alleviate symptoms included being advised to place telephone books under his cot and rolled-up towels or nappies to prevent him rolling. This, and their determination to seek a better and natural solution to treat Blade’s reflux, saw Sally and Hayley and work to design and build a solution for acid reflux, cold and flu symptoms and colic for children. After years of product research, design, development and rigorous testing, the dynamic duo entered the market with the Babywedge in early 2008.
